Swapping iPhone 4s to another number on my account

I want to give my jailbroken 4s to my wife to use on her line. We are on the same plan but I'm starting a new job that is giving me a new iPhone. It should be easy enough to restore and wipe my JB 4s and reactivate with her number, but sprint guy tells me the phone will not be able to connect to the network on another line. Am I missing something?

Are they both Sprint iPhones?

You should be able to swap numbers no problem...

Contact another representative, If that doesn't work you could try deactivating both phones (from the phone by calling 611) then calling it again and reactivating them to which like you would prefer (or go into the store and reactivate them)
