Switching to Verizon and upgrading at the same time

I am considering switching my iPhones to Verizon when the new model comes out due to better coverage outside of my city.

I am pretty sure of the steps, but I just want to verify this before the time comes to upgrade my phones. What I am thinking is that I would just order the new phones from Apple choosing Verizon as the carrier. Once the phones come activate them with whatever number they come with, then call Verizon and get my current numbers ported over to my new phones then call my current carrier and cancel once the numbers are fully moved.

Correct?

That sounds like the same thing that I intend on doing. So, it looks about right.

Once you port your numbers, your current accounts will automatically be closed and you will be charged any corresponding ETFs.
