do i have to restore to unlock?

I -just- finished jailbreaking and setting everything to the way I want it (certain apps in certain places, ipod, certain sources, etc.).

Then I realized i want to unlock it. but I really don't want to if it's going to wipe all my settings (not phone settings but the stuff u gotta do by hand like rearranging icons).

also, on that note, is there any possible way to back up jailbroken apps? meaning if i restore and everything gets erased, can i get all my old apps/sources back through some sort of application?

I'm pretty sure you can just click advanced options in Ziphone and select unlock ONLY, and it will unlock your phone even if it isn't on a fresh restore.
