Activating 2.0?
No, this is not an April Fools Joke. This is legit. You can now get iPhone and iPod Touch firmwares 2.0 by alternative means...ahem...pirate bay...ahem...
Search something to the tune of "iPhone_iTouch_2.0_Beta_5a225c_ipsw"...
I have not tried to install it yet, but it appears that the only problem is that as of now, even if you're still on AT&T, iTunes, Ziphone, iPlus and iLiberty do not work to activate or unlock. The baseband is also upgraded so if you downgrade to 1.1.4, then you will have to downgrade the baseband to be able to make/recieve calls.
The description says:
Any ideas on how to get this at least activated without Pwnage?Code:Beta release of iPhone and iPod Touch OS 2.0, seeded to developers. This is build 5a225c. You're on your own as for activation, unlocks, etc, but software to assist in this should be popping up soon. You probably WON'T be able to activate this using iTunes, even if you have AT&T, but grab it while you can. Seed it, spread it.

I know that Pwned hasn't been released yet. I was just clarifying that upon its release it will be a viable solution since there are no tools available publically right now that can activate 2.0

If you wait for Zibri's next release of Ziphone, 2.0 activation may be implemented. Just wait for the release. There aren't any real advantages to the 2.0 firmware at this point.

i managed to get a copy of the 2.0 beta firmearw last night froma develper, i tried numerous attempts at unlocking it. i managed to jailbreak and activate it however i couldnt unlock the baseband. I could have a solution soon but definatly no promises, i think this is one for the dev team.

I find it funny that he said he got the 2.0 beta from a developer. I don't know any developers that would risk their iphone developer account by giving a beta away to some member I have never heard of. This sounds like some BS to me considering he can't even spell.
