Default Removing Version 1.1.1 out of iTunes?
Hi, is it possible to remove iPhone version 1.1.1. out of iTunes (from pc or Mac), so it is not possible anymore to install it by accident on the iPhone? Or maybe replace it with version 1.0.2.?

The firmware files are kept in ~/Library/Itunes/iPhone Software Updates. (on Mac)

Just move the 1.1.1 firmware file out of this directory. Next you start iTunes it's going to tell you there's an update. Click on ignore, and make sure "Never ask this again" is checked.

Is there a way to restore without updating? My version of iTunes only offers "Restore and update....."

    TIA!

Shift-click on Restore (PC) or Option-click on Restore (Mac) and you will get a pop-up dialog to browse to your local harddrive where you can choose the firmware version to restore to. You can download versions 1.0, 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 from this site in the downloads section.
