Yeah, I know it has probably been answered in the 700000000 pages of 1.11 threades, but I seriously dont have the time and would appreciate a definative answer if one exists.

I would hate to waste a 30 ducket restocking fee to find out that it can not be done.

so in short, Can a new phone purchased today, be restored to 1.02 using the method outlined in the guides and the BE UNLOCKED for any sim. or will it give the old NO SERVICE message>??????

Thanks and MUCH appreciation in advance!

Nope can't be done. The iphone will call the FBI and FCC and you will be arrested usually within the hour. (agents have to eat lunches too)
