New Iphone Help

Hi,
I just bought my Iphone 1 week ago.
I think it was a 1.1.1 before I took it to a guy and paid 10$ to activate it.
He said he can activate it but not unlock to use with any operator and I need to wait.
When I go settings-> general-> about I see :

Model MA712
Serial Number 7S739G7WW..
Version 1.0.2 (1C28)
Modem firmware 04.01.13_G

It means he downgraded from 1.1.1?
Do I need to wait to unlock or can I do it myself? and how?

If it was 1.1.1 before you took it to him, you're out of luck. He would have downgraded the phone to 1.0.2 to jailbreak it, but that won't downgrade the baseband (modem firmware) which is required to actually unlock the phone. Like he says, you're going to have to wait until a new unlock is made.
