02-18-2014, 05:15 AM #1IMEI factory unlock - stuck in procedure - afraid to lose other unlock possibilities
I have an iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1.1, BB 04.10.01.
I have been unlocking with Gevey Turbo SIM and activating with SAM.
I don't have an original SIM from the Carrier it is locked to (Orange Spain).
I recently took the decision and got my IMEI "factory" unlocked on unlockify.co.uk.
They claim it has been successfully unlocked. (On IMEI status sites my IMEI still appears as locked! Is this normal?)
To complete the unlock procedure unlockify tells me I have to upgrade to the latest iOS.
I am hesitating to do that, because I do not want to update my iOS until I am certain the unlock has worked. If not I might end up stuck with a useless device I cannot unlock anymore the way I am doing now.
How can I complete the "factory" unlocking procedure, without updating iOS/BB and losing my jailbreak?? (and all that with both Gevey and SAM?)
I have read that I would need to de-activate the SAM activation in order to complete the unlocking, but whenever I do that I get "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported." in iTunes.
Thanks for any help - Google has not given me an answer to this for weeks now...!!

Is this such a weird case, or am I missing out on describing something?

Hmm I herd that orange Spain is kinda hard to unlock I'd suggest checking other imei checkers to confirm b4 updating.

Thanks for the comment mag12.
Quick question, should my IMEI appear as unlocked on the IMEI status sites, although I haven't yet completed the procedure on my phone?
Any recommendations for a reliable IMEI status site?

I am getting that it is unlocked on imei.info and iphoneimei.info...
Does this mean that I was scammed?
Or is it related with me not having completed the procedure on my phone?
