I have never heard of a verizon locked iphone 5. As far as I knew they are all unlocked. How do you know it is locked?

Because I have tried it with another sim such as AT&T and t mobile it will say sim not supported. Then I called verizon and they say I need to unlock it and pay 200$

Could you provide us more details on this when you get info ?

    Yes

I have heard some say by putting in a sim and restoring it will sometimes kick it back to unlocked status but i dont know how true that is i haven't got a verizon ip5 to test this theory

I paid mod Cowboy for an unlock on October 30th. It never came, he stopped responding to my emails, and has ignored my requests for a refund.

Unbelievable, as he seemed trustworthy. He needs to be exposed for the scam artist he is.

All I asked for was the service or a refund, and he has simply been ignoring my emails and requests.

    Shady, shady characte

    Sorry to bump.

But, @mag12 do you have update on this?

Verizon can not 'accidentally' sell locked iPhone 5 and up models without being handed a large fine by the FCC.

And a shame to anyone on here regardless of the ranking you have to offer a unlocking service for a device that is sold unlocked by the company.

A shame? I am offering a service for the people that caught in the trap off all this?

Not my fault they got locked. I do know a lot of them got fixed an i currently have that service down. It was a glitch i think but there was a lot of people abroad that got stuck .

Anyone abroad that got a Verizon iPhone 5 model and up without the Verizon activation sim card were stuck on the activation screen. An unlocked iPhone is pointless if you can't get past that screen. This goes for all carriers. Which is why some offer the Activation Service periodically for AT&T iPhones. So as you mentioned, a quick restore usually fixed the problem for those Verizon iPhones. The same ones you were going to charge for.
