I have been sending you messages since Wednesday.
Lets me quickly summarize the situation. I submitted my request and payment on December 28th when you explained me that it would take you 10 to 12 days to unlock it.
When I checked it with you last week, you told me that there has been a confusion and that the phone would be unlocked by Wednesday or Thursday latest.
As I explained it in December, I am currently traveling in Africa and I have limited access to the internet.
Please update me with the status so that I can start using my phone.

First, you explained me that there was a mix up on your end and that you would do it by Wednesday Thursday latest.
Finally, you told me on Friday morning that you would come with an update in a few hours, nothing again.
On top of the fact that 10 days becoming 30 days, you are also not responding to my private messages as you said youself that you dont like communicating through PMs, which is your preferred contact method.
So again, what is going on here?

I stated numerous times EMAIL is my preferred communication. I don't like pms that much unless I know they are coming in.
This is why i direct people through my site as much as possible orders get lost when people just send me money and an imei number when you go through the site i have a record of everything. But your unlock will be done in the next 12-24 hours just got update.

Just an update. Chronic unlocks came through this morning.
Unlocked iPhone 5 after order was placed at the end of November.
Still need to get an iPhone 5s unlocked but it will have to wait til get a little more consistent

Seems to me after seeing how everything has played out here, is that on a forum where people go to for good information on modding/unlocking/ etc their phones, a moderator is utilizing as a vehicle for his business, very quickly replying to requests on many threads for unlocking help, but not delivering reliable service, having multiple lines of communications open, making it very messy and making it seem like the customer's fault for not reaching the vendor in their preferred way.
Seems to be a bit less than Kosher, especially when it comes to the issues of refunds, where the vendor benefits from paypal's policy of not refunding intangible items, but then disregards their other policy of not providing an illegal service.
There is an indebtedness to the members of the forum that is being used to market a service, not the other way around.
It seems a bit strange that there is only 2 vendors that come up here for unlocking (ideviceguys and chronic) one of which is a moderator.
iphoneimei dot info is a great tool and has a link to unlocking services for $65/$140. the imei checker has always given me accurate data, it updated correctly after AT&T unlocked my 5S via their device unlock portal. definitely see if you have any friends that have ATT accounts before shelling out big money to monopolizing vendors.

Iphoneimei.info has been down for atleast 48 hours now on giving sim lock status.
As for your other comments I been more then prompt with my response and refunds have been explained multiple times. And that whole mess which has been a black cloud over my head should all be cleared out this week.
There have been more then chronic and myself come up in the forum.
Check BST for example you will see multiple offering services.
Yes go to Att and see if they will do by all means. But the majority of people getting unlocks do not live in the US or have access to an Att account. If it was just that easy then there would be no need for hundreds of people offering this service.

Even paid checkers have been "iffy" lately.
There are more vendors. I am one of them. I did a 5s unlock for free around Christmas to prove my services. It was done in less than 24 hours like I said it would be. As far as any other sellers, the way they run their business is up to them. Their policies are up to them. Would most agree with them? Probably not. Nobody is holding a gun to any of Cowboy's customers. If you don't like the policy, don't purchase the unlock. Now can we leave Cowboy's issues alone and let him solve them?

placed my order on Nov 1st and turned out can't be unlocked and cowboy said he will refund me, emailed him couple time and as what he told me, there are paypal issues and whatever...so I waited and email him again two weeks ago(16th, Thursday) and he told me the refund will be done on Friday(17th), now another two weeks, still nothing, Feb is coming....do i need to wait until next year to get my refund?
