Default HELP! I have a Gevey Sim Unlocked iPhone on iOS 4.3.3. Will I lose unlock if I update?
I have a Gevey Sim Unlocked iPhone 4 which I have never updated past 4.3.3. The phone is T-Mobile. I have been scared that if I update it I will no longer have the unlock. Does anybody know any information about this? I'm starting to get a bit frustrated because I can't download 90% of applications anymore because they all require iOS 5 or higher. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry but I'm not too tech savvy. What is an IMEI unlock? This is a bit off topic but somebody told me I can buy some kind of unlock code from eBay for like 5 bucks, so would I be able to just update my phone and then buy this unlock code and use that?

Probally the same thing. Here's the catch you have any shsh blobs for 5.0 or 6.0 if not you can upgrade to 6.1.3 but it will be a tethered jailbreak

T-Mobile never offered iPhone 4 in the US. I believe first iPhone offered by TMO US is the iPhone 5. If this iPhone 4 is for T-Mobile UK, it's not worth the price to do an IMEI unlock.
