Default 3GS iPad baseband unlock - phone acting strange.
    Hi all,

I recently unlocked an iPhone 3GS, I did a clean install of 5.0.1 then used the latest version of redsn0w to JB and install the iPad baseband. All went well.

The phone recently dropped all its contacts and switches itself off randomly!!

    Any ideas?

Would downgrading the iPad BB help?

I also tried to install a hacktivated 6.0.3 custom Ipsw but kept getting various iTunes errors (1600 etc)

    Thanks for any advice

iPad baseband is not compatible with location services, thus, you experience the frequent signal searching. And, yes, you need to downgrade baseband to fix this problem. Below is a link to a tutorial just in case you don't have it already... Good luck
