IMEI Unlock for Iphone 5
Hello from Austin, TX! I'm new here and am hoping to learn some before I can start contributing back to the forum; that's how these things work right
I have an ATT iphone 5 that I'd like to give to my Dad who has T-mobile. From what I understand ultrasn0w/ redsn0w won't work to unlock the iphone 5 and the only way to unlock the carrier is through an IMEI unlock (correct me if I'm wrong)
I was wondering if you guys knew of any reliable and reputable IMEI unlockers (maybe here on the forum?) and what a fair price is for these services.
If it makes a difference I'm running the evasion jailbreak on 6.0, but everythings backed up so a restore is just a click away.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the link and your response! I ordered my unlock at 7pm tonight so I'll report back probably tomorrow with how it goes (plus for $15 it's one of the more affordable unlocks out there).

I was told the iPhone 5 comes from Apple already unlocked. I'm confused.

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure about the OP's question. I bought the i5 outright at the Apple store and activated it on Verizon and was told by a Verizon rep that the phone comes unlocked.

Thanks for the update. Instead of restoring my phone, I just plugged it into itunes with a T-mobile sim installed, the phone rebooted and the unlock was complete.
I'm now using my phone on Tmobile so it seems that the unlock worked perfectly, thanks for the service you provide.... Now to just get internet and mms configured. I'll post up here when I figure it out

To avoid others going through the hassle with web searches, t-mobile customer care and other b.s for an ATT iPhone 5 unlocked the following are the settings for 3g and mms.
Go to settings > general > cellular > cellular data network...
Cellular data
apn: epc.tmobile.com
username: (blank)
password: (blank)
MMS
apn: epc.tmobile.com
username: (blank)
password: (blank)
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.115.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message Size: 1048576
MMS UA Prof URL: http://apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
Internet Tethering
apn: pcweb.tmobile.com
username: (blank)
password: (blank)
The information was from here T-Mobile Internet and picture messaging settings for Apple® iPhone® Support | T-Mobile but I tried the "Wap.voicestream.com" apn and it didn't work, so I just suggest using the epc.tmobile.com (one I listed above and recommended by tmobile).
