Are you sure about the carrier check?

Yea I'm sure. Some how I missed that. Why is it that phones are being sold with bad esns then? What are people doing with them?
I know I can change out the logic board but it seems so damned expensive.

What options do I have besides calling Three and buying the R-SIM7+?
Jailbreak tonight ! After that, checking the options...
I couldn't find a decent priced service to unlock for that carrier. The most notorious one says that the unlock will be available "soon".

My apologies. It wasn't my intention.

Impossible to jailbreak since the phone is not activated...
The snake bites its own tail at that point
Carrier won't unlock.
And the R-SIM sellers told me that the phone needs to be activated too.
Hopeless (I dislocked my shoulder today ... ) Going nuts !
Have a nice day !

I'm going to look for that.
In addition, I'll purchase a R-SIM 5+ (Since it is compatible with 6.1 according to the DEV team). I think the 5+ is made for micro SIM and the 7+ for nano SIM. Therefore, since it's an iphone 4s, I think the R-sim 5+ is the best option.
I keep you posted. Thank you again (and again).

I bought a prepaid original carrier micro sim card.
If it succeeds to activate, I will then figure out which R-SIM card to buy in order to unlock.
I'll give you a feedback as soon as I receive the item (4-6 days).
I think the R-SIM 7+ only works with nano sim. Don't know what the advantages of this R-sim is compared to the 5+ so I'll check that too.
See you soon !

I received the Sim today. It worked. The phone is activated with that sim card.
HOWEVER, if I put any other carrier sim, I'm stuck at "Activation required". (Tried the Voice memo thing to bypass but it does not work anymore)
I jailbroke it.
I installed Sampref and I can get pass the Activation required (Great).
I purchased a R-SIM 5+ on ebay today. I hope I'll be able to unlock it even though the IMSI number of Three Ireland is hard to find.
Keeping you posted in a few days. Getting quite good at all this

I already uninstalled SAM. Everything went back to normal.
I was scared that the "Activation required" won't let my use the R-Sim. Trying to figure a way to bypass it.
Should I restore again or is Sam gone?

Yeah I have access to home screen with the 3 Ireland sim.
As soon as I enter the other sim and enter the PIN, it goes "Activation required" mode and I can't access anything anymore.
R-sim 5+ should come on monday. I found one IMSI for Three Ireland, hope it works !
Thank you !

I'm currently at the final boss
Been trying the R-Sim +5 all day. It searches for a while and then "No service".
I've been trying the "Get Carrier Code" as well as the "Edit IMSI ios6" methods.
Tried IMSI 2720500 and 2720501
Can't get any network at the moment. Ipod touch deluxe edition !

What carrier are you trying to use? I read some of the auctions for those R-SIM cards say they don't always work with the old 64k T-Mobile SIM cards.
