Hi guys, I kind of need some urgent help.
I have a Iphone 3gs, that was locked to o2 and using a Pay as you go SIM.
I made a recent backup on Itunes and then it's been unlocked AND jail broken by some one else in my family.
Cydia is not correctly working and requires a more up to date version. Additionally whoever upgraded it has rolled my ios back to 4.x for some reason.
Is there any way I could update to ios6 or 6.0.1, restore my files/settings from the backup and keep or RE-jailbreak with RedSnow/Cydia or something else? and reunlock to continue to work with my new EE contract SIM?
Thanks guys for any help at all.

You can update to iOS 6.0.1 but you should do it using a custom firmware to preserve the phone's baseband because it is assumed whoever unlocked your phone most likely did it with a software called ultrasn0w
But you will be able to restore from iTunes backup
However you would need to rejailbreak the phone
