I have a friends 3gs he bought of another friend, unfortunately he updated it to 6.01 and it's locked to Vodaphone, and wondered if he can jailbreak and unlock it.
Although I have had many iPhones and jailbreaks I am very unsure about this unlock, his serial is 81950 so I presume 2009 week 50 and the baseband is 05.16.07-6.4_M3S2
Should he just pay Vodaphone for an unlock? or is it possible to downgrade the baseband..?
Appreciate any help or advice I've looked for hours now and am very confused if it might brick it, it's 2009 so should be ok, but redsnow says after week 40 it will have fixed rom..
