    Default Iphone 3gs wont work after updating from 5.1 to 6
    I have an iphone 3gs and it was jail broken. I tried to update to 6.o using Itunes and now my fome just lets me do emergency calls . The initial screen just says Iphone and thats it. I can still get signal and it advertices my carrier but can not make or receive calls . Please Help!!!!

    Try doing a complete restore before updating in iTunes. Updating over jailbreaks can cause memory problems and other issues. Just hit the "Restore" button in iTunes and then let it do it's thing.

    Yeah..I always do DFU mode restore...JB or not..lol.. Less problems later

    not a direct reply to this, but similar ...how do you stop the iphone from trying to update to 6.0? in settings?

    ipones 3s jailbroke redsn0w untethered running version 5.1.1

    i saw some where on cydia that your not to update to 6.0 ever or it will mess up the jailbreak bigtime, or untill 6.0 is jailbroke and updated on redsn0w

    Right! U should never do an OTA update on a JB phone... Always do restore or DFU mode restore!

    There is a tweak in Cydia to get rid of that annoying update badge on settings... No OTA update, but u still have to be careful not to hit update!

    There is a tweak in Cydia called noupdate I believe. It will stop your phone from trying to update from the software update section in settings.

    looks like no update stops it from updating but the red badge is still there on the settings icon


    upadated:::: the noota badge took care of it , u will have to install both to get it from even trying to update and getting rid of the red badge, thxs all!

    If ya have springtomize 2 it will clear the badge. And does much more very good tweak
