I have an iPhone 4 with baseband 1.59.00 so I can use Ultrasn0w.
Currently I'm in iOS 5.1.1 and really want to upgrade to iOS 6 (I do not mind giving up Jailbreak).
Is there a way to upgrade my iPhone 4 without upgrading the modem\Baseband?

If you require ultrasnow to unlock then you should stay on 5.1.1 with your 1.59.00. baseband. Currently there is only a tethered jailbreak for 6.0 for iPhone 4 and ultrasnow hasnt been updated to work with it yet.
For preserving your baseband you would also need to wait for either redsnow or snowbreeze to support making no baseband custom 6.0 firmwares.
What carrier is the phone locked to?

Now do not really care of Ultrasn0w that this is not my main iDeice. I just want to try the iOS6.
So I guess I'll have to wait until he snowbreeze corresponding to iOS6.
