Problem with IPSW from redsnow 9.14b2
Hi,
I am currently on iOS 4.1.2 , 5.11.07 firmware (old bootrom) and was planning to upgrade to 5.0.1/5.1.1 without upgrading my baseband so I could unlock it without the official SIM.
I download the latest version of redsn0w as well as the stock iOS 5.0.1 and went into redsn0w's CUSTOM IPSW option and created a custom IPSW but when I select the newly created custom IPSW in redsn0w, it says that the current IPSW is not supported by redsn0w. Happened with 5.0.1 as well as 5.1.1
Kindly help on how I can upgrade to 5.0.1 or 5.1.1 or get a hacktivated IPSw which would be even better!
Thanks

Try Sn0wbreeze to create your custom ipsw. Usually Redsn0w doesn't give me any problems with this process, but sometimes it doesn't work for some people for some reason.

You only use the custom IPSW to do the actual restore. When it comes time to jailbreak, you must select the original (unmodified) IPSW.

Good point^. I misread. You already properly created the cFW with redsn0w. You use that to restore in iTunes with. That's why you're getting an error. You don't plug a custom fw created by redsn0w into Redsn0w.
