    I had 4.2.1 on my 3G and it was very unstable, always running low on RAM.
    So I downgraded to 3.1.3. Still baseband 5.13.04.

    I jailbroke with redsnow 0.9.4 (the newer redsnow versions doesn't work with 3.1.3).
    I installed ultrasn0w from cydia but it is not unlocked. Still says NO SERVICE and a "Waiting Activation" message pops up once in a while.

    Is there another way to do this? Why doesn't ultrasn0w work here?

    Oh hell, it wasn't working because the sim card was expired.
    It's working well now.
