    Default iPhone 4S iOS 5.1.1 - Activate
I recently got a new iPhone 4S through my company, because my old one (personal) was stolen.

The phone is activated with my companies carrier and works fine, yet when I put my own personal mini-sim in (I got a new one from my carrier), it asks me to activate the phone.

How can I get it to where it doesn't ask me to activate the phone?

PS: I have been able to jailbreak it.

    Regards,

If it's another carrier that isn't supported on the phone you'll need to get it unlocked. If you are trying to use a non-supported SIM, what baseband are you on?

    Modem Firmware: 2.0.12

It recognizes the sim card. I even have signal and 3G, then a few seconds later I get the "Activation Required" popup.

I am currently using it with the SIM from the carrier I got it from fine, but want to put my other SIM in it and put this SIM into my iPad 1st gen, as the 3G frequency is compatible with it.

Well if you're getting 2G on it, why don't you just activate it? Or will it not let you activate it..?

    It will not let me.

The activation screen pops up about 20 / 30 seconds after I insert the SIM and when I try to activate is says "the sim card inserted in this phone is not supported", etc....

You're gonna have to unlock then. The 4S can't be hacktivated (which is the worst part about it). That's why it'll pop up with an activation screen, because it's not normally supported. Luckily for you, you're on an unlockable baseband. You can order a Gevey Ultra S, unlock, and then just activate it with the old SIM and then insert the new SIM and then you're good to go.
