Hey, I have a 3gs old bootrom 5.13.04 (recently downgraded from 6.15) on IOS 4.1 unlocked with ultrasnow and then again with SAM (to try to fix the push notifications problem but it didn't work)

I'd like to update the software to 5.0 or later. I can't find JB or unlock for 6.0.
Can I upgrade to 5.0 or 5.1 or 5.1.1? Maybe with a custom IPSW or other method? And have it be untethered JB and unlocked? Thanks! There are so many apps I can't have with 4.1!!!

Yep make a custom firmware for 5.1.1 and you will be find.

Download the 5.1.1 firmware on the site. Use snowbreeze to make a customfirmware. Then use iTunes to make it happen either shift restore on pc or option restore on Mac. Lemme know if ya need anything else

Thanks! Is 5.1.1 what you would recommend for my device?
Will I have to rejailbreak and unlock it?
Also, will it preserve my Baseband or will it update to a new one

    Thank you!

If ya follow them instruction your baseband should not be touched.
And yes it will be untethered. If you have a oldbootrom like ya said you do anything will be untethered. Want me to find ya a tutorial for ya so make sure it all works out good?

That should help ya out. Snowbreeze has been updated to a higher version you can git that at on this site with the 5.1.1 firmware.
