Default Moving from ATT iPhone 4 to Sprint 4S with SAM unlock
I currently have an ATT iPhone 4 that I used to unlock for T-Mobile with a gevey but when the sam method came out i switched to that. I'm about to buy a sprint 4s, but I want to be 100% sure that I can just copy over my lockdown folder (with redsn0w or via SSH) and have an unlocked phone. I don't think I should have a problem?

it will not work, the SAM unlock tickets are tied to the original sim that was used to activate it

    Bummer.
When you used the sam method to unlock it for T-Mobile, the same same tickets cannot be used for another carrier, in this case, Sprint, it can only be used for T-Mobile

I don't know that we're on the same page here...I have a Sprint 4S that I want unlocked for tmobile. I have my activation records for my AT&T iPhone 4, which was unlocked for Tmobile. Was the sam ticket for the i4 tied to ATT?

yes that is correct, it is tied to ATT, and cannot be used on a Sprint carrier

I do apologize it didnt work out for you.

Unfortunately SAM was a temp unlock that was patched up pretty quickly by Apple. It didnt give people much time to think about saving those tickets and how it would be used in the future.

You might want to try using ATT to do an imei unlock or look for a reputable unlock service online to do it for you
