Thanks to Simon for the link. I just bought the unlock for my iphone 4 yesterday. Unfortunately, when I checked the status this morning, they said my order has been marked as possibly fraudulent. They required my landline number for validating my order.

That's very weird wonder why they think that.

Hi - it's Stephanie here from officialiphoneunlock. Our card processor assigns a fraud score to each transaction, based on a number of factors. So in the cases where the fraud score is high (e.g. someone purchasing behind a VPN or Open Proxy) we simply require a landline number for validation. Nothing to be alarmed about and it will only delay the order by an hour or two.
For obvious reasons we get hit sometimes by card fraudsters and have to protect ourselves and those people whose cards they are using. It is just us trying to be vigilant. The alternative would be to do what Google Wallet do and get you to send in a copy of your passport etc, which I'm sure you would agree is a lot more cumbersome and takes up to 5 days to validate.

I put in an order today after trying for the better part of last night and this morning and getting up to the Verified by Visa part only for it to get refused.
I went to change my bank account settings so I could do the Bank Transfer and they said it would take up to 2 days for the settings to be in place.
So i went back home and tried one more time , same credit card , same details, but instead put in my Cell phone number with '+' in front of it. That might have been what got it to work.
My IMEI has been submitted and I'm very excited how this turns out.

I don't want to seem dense here but what would motivate a person to unlock their phone while still in contract period? I mean that is if you're not intending to stiff AT&T and never pay them the rest of their contract. Is there any motivation for someone that intends to pay their bills to unlock their AT&T phone early? AT&T will unlock it for you post contract. Here to help if I can.
If I can't - I know someone who can.

The motivation is that I want to use my device in Europe while on vacation and not have to buy another ****** phone.

the motivation is that I am living in canada for now because I am injured, can't work and cannot afford to pay 170+ a month for my phone bill.

I am guessing the SIM card needs to be activated for the unlock to work ?
I put in a FIDO sim card but nothing has happened.
