You can either get a ATT customer or ex customer to call on your behalf and get it done or you can use an IMEI unlocking site to do it for you. They obviously will charge for it though.

Only site I know does it is: Unlock iPhone, Official iPhone Unlock, Apple iTunes Unlock
It is more than $75 though so you may want to see if you can find someone that is or has been an ATT customer and try that first.

Be careful on using an imei unlocking service. There are plenty of scammers out there. If you live in a big city, you may want to search for a local service. Good luck.

You dont have to have any sim to put the order in for the unlock. You will need a sim card in the phone once you get the email back from them saying it has been unlocked though.

No prob. Just a heads up, that site is generally pretty good with the timelines they give but be prepared to be patient with a ATT unlock. They (and everyone) have a big backlog with ATT unlocks so it may take a little longer than their site suggests.

Ya, I had issues with mine too. My visa always worked fine. Amex used to too. I had to set up something called securecode for my mastercard to work properly there though.
