Default Deactivated JB iphone on ATT, but no unlock message? [Solved]
I've gotten an email from ATT that my phone has been unlocked. My iphone is currently jailbroken.

I followed the instructions below to deactivate it, however @ step 6 I don't see an unlock message. I just see 'There is no Sim card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate.' No unlock message. If I disconnect the phone and reconnect it I just get itunes to load as it always been loading. Any thoughts?

Ended up installing SAM from Cydia repo and de-activated via SAM and worked like a charm.

I received my unlock email on the 12th, and I keep getting the No Sim card installed message, regardless of whether I use SAM or redsn0w. I verified my IMEI with AT&T, so everything should be complete on that end.

    Any ideas?

Try restoring. That's really what you should do.

NO. Do not restore. All you have to do is put a non-AT&T SIM in before you hook up to iTunes. Unplug from iTunes and then plug it in again. It then shows that the phone is activated and the non-AT&T SIM shows up on the phone. By the way, I did't wait for the email (in fact I still haven't received anything from AT&T), tried it two days after calling, and it worked.

Oh yea, by the way. The iPhone was one that I bought off of eBay. AT&T asked where I got it and told them eBay. They just had to look it up to see that it was clear with the original owner.

Oh yah I forgot about that. If that doesn't work than I don't know what to tell ya besides restoring...
