Thanks a lot
Any help would really be appreciated

i dont know. I got the iPHone from him today and when i connected to iTunes, it said i should restore. I am restoring 3.1.2 firmware.
Now i get the error 1015 in iTunes
Also when I get this message "the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported", I can only do emergency calls. An idea how i can find out the baseband info?

To find the baseband go to: Settings > General > About and then scroll down to the part where it says your modem/ baseband.

OK i Used Forecast and below are the details
Unlockable: Upgrade to iPad BB
any ideas how to proceed?

If you want to unlock it you will either have to get the carrier it is locked to to unlock it or upgrade to the iPad baseband. There is no going back if you go the iPad baseband route and it will break your GPS.

Yep like Simon said. You'll have to get the carrier to unlock it or use iPad baseband

going to carrier is not possible because of living in different continents
Can you please explain me the iPad baseband route?

Well, If you were on AT&T you could. I don't know much about iPad baseband, I'll look a tutorial up on YouTube

As far as I know, no. But I could be wrong

You can hacktivate to get past the emergency screen. Redsn0w will do it, maybe one of the other programs you've already downloaded can too.
