upgrading firmware from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4

hi...i've never upgraded my iphone...i'l be thankful if any1 could guide me as to how i can upgrade my iphone from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4, without locking it.
pls guide me...

I recently upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4 with no problems, I restored my iphone through itunes, then used the latest version of zipphone and not a problem.

what version of iTunes i should use? i got iTunes 7.4 and iPhone 1.02... but i'm not sure which software to use for upgrading my phone? maybe somebody can tell me each software plus/minus? should i use the pwnage tool/iLiberty/iPlus/Zipphone?

ps: i used windows, but i can use a mac too..
