Default Bricked iPhone?3GS 4.1 New Bootrom iPad Baseband, wont activate.
Alright so i think i made a mistake here. I have an iPhone 3GS that has the newer bootrom, I downgraded the software to 4.1, then did the Jailbreak + ipad baseband. When the phone came back on it will not get past the activation screen and randomly turns off.

Tried updating the software to 5.0.1 with no baseband, still doing the same thing.

    Did i brick this phone?

All help is appreciated, if you have a file i need please message me a link

    Thanks in advanced!

Well, this is kinda funny. . . But not really.

I am in the process of the same thing.

I just bought a 3gs. Ran RedSn0w and hit with the iPad baseband. It came to some BS activation screen saying connect to iTunes.

    Running a restore now.

Why did you downgrade to 4.1?

anyways if you've still have problems, try snowbreeze 2.9.1

Well, I am trying another method. I almost brought it back to life.

    This is what I got:

    1) Baseband 6.15.xx does work on the new bootrom
    2) The 3gs with a new boot ROM will not work while on OS 5.0.1 and 6.15.xx BaseBand
    3) You can not revert your baseband. Period
    4) You will not be able to do a restore in iTunes(since the baseband is 6.15xx now)

I did 2 3GS the first had an old bootrom the second iPhone has a new bootrom, everything went fine for me.

although iirc I did use snowbreeze on the old bootrom iphone. Even forecast said I could not jailbreak the phones.

use snowbreeze and create a preserve BB restore?

Both phones are running Ipad BB and 5.0.1 now.

I am right now, I thought I came up with that one. I haven't seen anything on it.

Snowbreeze by default will never ever make an ipsw(on any setting) that will upgrade your baseband.

That I know, I don't need the baseband changed just firmware.

Didn't work, I got it to boot up though.

It boots up for about a minute then resets and takes forever to start. I got to the settings menu and it showed no baseband, it was just blank.

Was your stock IOS 4.3.5 ?

if so, I found this http://jailbreakqa.com/questions/650...luetooth/65889

[15:31] @MuscleNerd">@MuscleNerd for some reason, even with stock everything, and completely normal BB (not 06.15), if you try to go from recent 4.3.5 to 4.1, you break your radio

[15:31] @venusanann">@venusanann k, so you know about it, whats happening there, any idea?

    [15:31] @venusanann">@venusanann k

[15:31] @MuscleNerd">@MuscleNerd (I say "recent 4.3.5" because as tdumaine points out, there are actually 2 versions of 4.3.5 for 3GS. Only the current one does this radio breakage)

[15:32] <justinred> Oh so its the downgrading to 4.1 that breaks radio and not install ipad bb?

[15:32] @MuscleNerd">@MuscleNerd no idea, and i'm afraid to recreate it cuz i don't have a 3GS to spare for that

    [15:32] @therealcmac">@therealcmac damn

[15:32] @MuscleNerd">@MuscleNerd yeah, the DG to 4.1 breaks it

    The iHustler strikes again. . . . . .

I erased the baseband and hit with OEM FirmWare 5.0.1 - It created from what I understand the first of its kind error of -1

No one at Apple tech support could find it in their system. . . Which equals a brand new iPhone 3Gs for me. Oh yes, free warranty exchanged iPhone.

Now. . . . . I have to sell it since it is also a new bootrom and can not be unlocked.

How did you "erase the baseband"

Just update to custom 5.0.1 with no baseband?

Would like to re-create your error

  16. #16
    I actually did several times.

Flash with a custom 5.0.1 ROM without a baseband. It will try to boot up, but wont.

Then hit it with a official 5.0.1 ROM. It will lock on the connect to iTunes screen on your phone.

Every time you will try to restore it, it will come back with a -1 error.

So did u fix it? I have a friends iPhone 3GS new bootrom that's doing this, itunes error (-1) & searching, blank baseband, no wifi or Bluetooth, powers off every 2 minutes.

    Is it a hardware issue?

Is it anntena inside iPhone or comm center on motherboard?

I saw somewhere there was a tutorial to replace the comm center chip on motherboard but I will try everything else first, even swapping motherboard to another perfectly good iPhone 3GS.

Anyone please update or chime in with any suggestions or comments!!!

No hurry I have a 64GB iPhone 4S JBd w/Absinthe, 32GB iPhone 4 JBd w/Redsn0w, 2 different 16GB iPhones a 3GS & 3G but I'd like to get this working for my friend. I'm giving him my iPhone 3GS but I also have a few other iPhone 3GS parts like motherboards w/broken connectors, docks, batteries, antennas & everything else to experiment to revive this pos into a frankenstienphone.

***BTW it's a new bootrom week 134, I read that week 135 & older was ok but ive also screen week 128 & a few other dates but not 100% positive about iPad baseband compatibility.
