Can this 3GS be unlocked?
The serial 1st 5 digits are 86145.

Nope, you cannot install the ipad baseband on that. What is your current baseband?

it's on iOS 5.0.1 with 05.16.05 bandband.

Cant be unlocked then sorry. Except by your carrier.
