This is a very old phone of mine, it is the very first iPhone.
I used it unlocked and jailbroken for years and then gave it to my wife...now she has a 4s and someone else is going to use it....problem is it is really flaky and needs to be restored and I have completely forgotten how - can someone tell me how and what I need please?
From what I remember it is on 3.1.something and was unlocked using a mixture of methods over the years, I remember a pineapple

Hit "upgrade" in iTunes. It'll take it to 3.1.3.
I'll find you a guide that has download links as well for all the files you need to get it jailbroken and unlocked again.
iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your iPhone 2G on OS 3.1.3 Using RedSn0w (Windows)
there you go.
Edit: skip to step 4 once you've finished upgrading to 3.1.3.

iPhone 2G uses bootneuter, it doesn't work with ultrasn0w to unlock bc of the baseband version.
Redsn0w should be used bc it jailbreaks and unlocks in one step.

Use Redsnow 0.9.6B4 with BIN Files bl36 and bl46. This should unlock and jailbreak at the same time once you updated or restore to 3.1.3!
