iPhone 4 unlock help

I have an iPhone 4 running 4.3.1 with baseband 4.10.01. I am on t-mobile and need to unlock. I am new to this forum so please don't jump on me too bad. Is there any way to unlock without using gevey? I have seen some YouTube videos where they remove their att sim, put in a t-mobile sim, and boom...signal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That baseband is only unlockable through Gevey. If you use the Gevey Ultra then you can just jb your device and install the furiousmod through Cydia and it will automatically do the process for you.

What if I (and how would I do it) changed the baseband? I have the gevey sim in it now but don't like having to redo the unlock process whenever I lose signal for a long period. Or if I make a modification that requires rebooting. I thought about upgrading to 4.3.3. Would that change the baseband?

Cant change your baseband unless you update to higher firmware.

no. your baseband wont downgrade.
