I have an AT&T 3GS that needs activation. It's IOS 4.1 with baseband 05.16.02-6.4_M3S2. I've attempted to activate, jailbreak, and update it to IOS 4.2 with redsn0w 0.9.6b6. I checked install Cydia and Deactivate. It goes through the process fine but in the end the stupid No SIM card installed message appears when it reboots. I also opened Tiny Umbrella afterwards and it still says firmware version is 4.1.
Am I doing anything wrong? I just want a simple activation, everyone seems to be able to do it so easily.
ah disregard, i should Not have had deactivate selected. got confused reading so many different tutorials

95% of the time ur sim card reader either damage or shortage, need to replace to fix the message.
