udated my ip4 to 5.0.1 from jb 4.3.3 now it will not activate

I updated my ip4 to 5.0.1 from a jb 4.3.3 because i wanted the new ios and was going to go with a tehtered jb 5.0.1 but once I did all of that. My ip4 will not activate now. It keeps showing the plug into iTunes symbol on the phone but when I do that it still will not activiate. any solutions. I can turn it off and turn it back on but it says no service

Did you activate it with the sim card it came with it? (AT&T?)

Yes I did. I took it to AT&T to activate. Didn't work. Got a new sim and activated it. Didn't work. Called apple and they had no solution but charged me for trouble shooting. So all I got now is a ip4 that's updated but no data and everything in the settings is good as far as 3G and data being on.
