yes if you have a data plan. but your 3G will never work as t-mobile has a different 3G freq then the iphone.

Curious as to why an Unlocked IPhones are being sold in stores but the software cannot be duplicated to unlock the rest of the locked iphones? I would figure it would be a matter of comparing specific files and editing them to unlock the phone. Not sure how the process exactly works though.

It's something to do with iTunes and the phone ID (uuid or whatever they use) not just some different files on the phone. Itunes looks at whatever identifier and places the lock accordingly. Im not exactly sure what the process is but that's the gist of it.

Ahhh, ok cool thanks. I knew it wasn't simple but wasn't exactly sure what the steps where or what was involved. I was hoping a simple copy and paste of a few files would get my S up and running. Thanks for the info JailbreakeR

I think apple unlocks iphone according to IMEI, when you activate it, it does an IMEI check and if not listed as locked, it will give the green light > No restrictions on GSM sim

Apple is still selling factory unlocked iphone 4 but only 8 gb version, i guess apple must have stocks on 8 gb which nobody wants.

Apple web site I ordered one 4s 16gb unlocked. At bottom of it's page it say get approved for credit card I got approved and the page took me to the unlocked iPhone's
