Need help hacktivating iPhone 4

I tried this custom firmware but my device is stuck with an Apple logo and a progress bar that stays empty. Thanks for the input guys.

Thanks. I tried that but redsn0w says invalid misprint at the end. My goal is to have this device working with H2o wireless. When I have the SIM inside, it says invalid carrier. Any ideas?

You should get an official sim even a no service sim is fine. You will need it for future restore.

Ok I will purchase one. Thank you. I pointed redsn0w with a stock 5.0 ISPW and hit the Just Boot option and it worked.

I continue to receive No Service on the iPhone. H2O Wireless can work with 4.11.08 baseband right?

It looks like you are trying to unlock, you cannot unlock iphone 4, sell it and get a factory unlocked or use this as Itouch 4

I was told that you do not need to unlock for the phone to work with H2o wireless. Is this incorrect?

If the this phone is locked to H2o, then you are unlocked for H2o carrier but not any other carrier. If this iphone is locked to an unknown carrier other than H2o, you cannot unlock this iphone with your current baseband and you cannot use H2o carrier on your iphone.

Is there any way of checking what carrier this phone is locked to? I purchased it from Craigslist so I am not sure
