Gevey Sim unlock stays with phone or software?

I tried searching the forums but it seems like the search function is not working properly.

Anyways if I restore the os will I lose the jailbreak?

Also if I get another IPhone 4 will I be able to use that Gevey Sim on that IPhone 4?

Every restore put iphone into factory settings.
Gevey sim will only work for Baseband below 04.11.00

I'm sorry what I meant was if I restore my operating system to 5.0.1 or 4.3.3 what I'm on currently will that get rid of the unlock?

Yes, I do understand the Gevey sim will only work for basebands below 4.11.00 but is that Gevey sim attached to that IPhone or can it move around to a different IPhone if I get another one?

ANY restore or update will ALWAYS get rid of an unlock and a jailbreak

If you restore to regular 5.0.1 firmware you will lose your jailbreak and your baseband will be updated meaning the gevey will no longer work to unlock it. You can use snowbreeze to make a custom 5.0.1 to preserve your baseband so that the gevey will still work with it. However if you use cydia it will be a tethered jailbreak.

As for your other question, yes, you could take your gevey out of your iPhone 4 and put it in another and it will unlock the other iPhone 4 (assuming it has a compatible baseband).

if you restore you will loose the jailbreak. you can restore using a custom firmware that is already jailbreak so will not need to jailbreak again again.if you get a newer iphone it must have baseband below 04.11.00 in order to work with Gevey Sim.
