iTunes error -1

Every time I try restore my 3GS I'm getting error -1 after the restore is complete and get on recovery mode.Don't know why I'm doing a normal way restore.Would appreciate help.

Error -1
Error occurs when one uses the "last ditch" method for preventing baseband updates on the iPhone 4. The baseband does not get updated using this method. Use TinyUmbrella to kick it out of recovery mode.

What firmware are you restoring to ? If you are restoring to 4.xx firmware, are you using your blob to verify your restore except 4.1 which apple can provide.

I was trying to update to 5.0.1 preserving baseband but then I gave up and tried restoring normally to factory settings and at the end I get -1

Also When I TU exit recovery it powers off and on again and after a few I get recovery mode again.
