Unlock 3GS 4.2.1

I have a very simple request: I want to unlock my iPhone. It's 3GS, 4.2.1 OS, with the new bootrom. Could anyone please link me to a relevant tutorial? I managed to find several on the web, but all of them are over a year old and I'm wondering if there are any newer methods.

Sadly there is no unlock for a 3GS updated to 4.2.1 I'm assuming you did a stock update or resotre so the chance of a preserved BB is nil. Sorry but there is nothing to unlock with.

You would need to update to iPad baseband. Using Redsn0w and just unlock using ultrasn0w

As in here? The guide accounts for the newer 3GS models, but doesn't mention anything about the band explicitly.

I followed this and my phone is apparently jailbroken now (based on the Cydia icon that appeared on my home screen). Now I would like to unlock it, could you please link me a tutorial?

Do you have an At and t sim card.? I put the sim in, opened Cydia searched for ultrasn0w and installed it. Once it was all done and rebooted, I put in TMO sim and it was unlocked. Be sure to disable 3G in settings.

The phone is locked to Orange UK.

Then use an orange sim if you have one.

EDIT II: Okay, I successfully upgraded to the iPad baseband (6.something). Do I just download ultrasn0w now?
