Please help! Updated to 5.0 on jailbroken phone … aggrrr :( What to do now?
To all knowledgeable people, can you please help a desperate soul
I had a jailbroken iphone 4 with iOS 4.3.x and 4.10.01 baseband. I jailbroke it with Snowbreeze (I think) and unlocked with Gevey SIM. Yesterday, for some unknown reason I updated accidentally to 5.0 on iTunes. Now, I need to activate it but I do not have the original AT&T sim. I am not in the US now.
I know that there was a way previously to activate the phone without AT&T SIM by jailbreaking it first. But, now that I updated jailbroken phone would I be able to do that? If so, how?
You can run redsnow 0.9.9b7 to jailbreak and hactivate your iphone but the bad news is you have locked yourself out because the Baseband cannot be unlocked by gevey sim.
Thanks, so the fact that I updated jailbroken phone does not invalidate future jailbreaks? I will try it, thanks again!
EDIT: Just went to the http://blog.iphone-dev.org/redsn0w-iOS5 and it says:
*** THIS REDSN0W WILL NOT HACTIVATE! You need to be an iOS developer with a registered UDID to get past all the new activation screens. ***
Thanks again, but just to be clear... will it also hactivate? Because right now I am stuck at the activation screen. Sorry for asking, it just on the dev team blog they say that it *won't*.
