    Default Error when restore custom iOS 5 ong 3gs- need help
    I got the error " The phone "iphone" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the request build" What can I do ? I am running itunes 10 (latest)

    Ensure tiny umbrella is not setting your hosts file towards cydia.

    when tinyumbrella runing then I got error 11

    don't run tiny umbrella for restore , under adv tab , uncheck set hosts file to cydia and close it . update iTunes to 10.5 and do ur restore .

    if I dont run tiny umbrella then I got error " The phone "iphone" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the request build" . My itunes is up to date now.

    you want your iOS 5 be verified by apple , if you are restoring to custom firmware , you need to put iphone into pwned dfu mode.

    Yes, I use the Redsn0w click ong the Pwned dfu option then follow the instruction to put the phone to DFU mode. After that I launch itunes and hold option + restore (Mac) then pick the custom file. After it extract out then it pop up the error msg like I mentioned above.

    Reboot your mac again. Did you create your custom fw ?

    I did use redsn0w to create the custom fw. I don't know maybe something to do with itunes or not.

    i cannot restore it even in pwned dfu mode. i have even tried the host file method. but it isn't getting restored after that. what should i do now?
