Downgrading baseband?
So I just got a new 4S, sold my old 4 to a friend of mine, with iOS5 and the newest baseband 04.11.08 on it. He wants to unlock it but apparently you cant unlock with that baseband yet. How can i downgrade the baseband to one that can be unlocked? thanks!!

I don't think you can downgrade that baseband.

You can downgrade it and unlock with gevey sim
Do a google search for "gevey sim 4.11.08" That search works just tried it

Downgrading baseband is only possible on iPhone 4 IF Apple is still signing the firmware for the baseband that you want to downgrade to. Since Apple is no longer signing 4.3.5 it is now impossible to downgrade your baseband to 4.10.01. There is no unlock at all for baseband 4.11.08.

So why does the iPad baseband only work on iPhone 3G/S
Any idea if quickiphoneunlocking.com works? They claim that they can unlock my new iPhone 4S but I think it's fake?

Definitely a fake.
The iPad baseband cannot go onto a iPhone 4 because iPhone 4 has baseband SHSH. Similar to firmware SHSH (but random which is why they cannot be saved and used again in the same way) you need these baseband SHSH in order for a baseband to be installed on a iPhone 4. While this allows downgrading of the baseband on occasions when Apple is still signing a older firmware it also means that Apple has complete control over what baseband can go onto a iPhone 4.

I wouldn't trust any website like that, most are scams. If you want a IMEI unlock it is always best to go to the carrier the phone is locked to to get it.

I'm asking cause I just sold a iPhone 4 to someone in Russia and he wanted it unlocked and didn't understand the difference from the word unlockable and unlocked
I already shipped it out so this info is important to him espically to me since I got $400 for the iPhone when it's only a 16gig
