hey guys i bought second hand iphone 4 and it was working fine and by mistake i updated it to 5.0 on itune without sim . my iphone supports gevey sim , and i liv in india now the problem is that after updating my iphone whenever i use to insert sim i got error sim card is not supported also same error in itune , and when i start my mobile then there setup begins like selecting language and country after that it sticked to wifi settings and i ignore it and the second option i get is connect to itunes .. but itunes doesnot support my any sim . so please guys suggest me what should i do now ?? should i use redsnow and install cydia via firmware ??? can i jailbreak or install cydia by redsnow to work it out again ?? please reply me asap . thanks

Nothing. If you didn't preserve baseband there is no unlock currently. You can use it as an iPod and get another device for service. Or you can wait.

Nope and nope. Your baseband is not downgradeable or unlock able. You can use it with whatever carrier it is locked to. That's all.

You can either wait and hope for an unlock (updated Ultrasn0w or a newer Gevey Sim) or you can sell it on ebay to anybody with the carrier it is locked to and get yourself another "unlockable" one

i dont know about the carrier it is locked to because i bought it second hand and updated it without sim .. and please tell me how i will know that new gevey sim is launched ??? and i am hearing about downgrade stuff that will restore my previous version of iphone ...

You can ask the guy that you bought it from for the original carrier

You should know about any new unlock from modmyi.com or any other iPhone site

Downgrading is only available if you saved the SHSH blobs for the older iOS but your main problem is that with iOS 5 the baseband is updated to version 04.11.08 which is unlockable (till now) and can NOT be downgraded. You should have preserved the older baseband and made a custom ipsw fw

Once u upgraded to IOS 5....you r in S#!! ....coz apple closed the backdoor i.e. the downgrade.....i live in hyderabad and i sell gevey sims......what i know was ....may be in a month they release the givey sim for i0s5 .....will keep u updated.....
