Unlocking my out of contract iPhone 4 running iOS 5

I am running iOS 5 with firmware 5.0 and modem firmware 04.11.08. Now forgive me but I'm a newbie to unlocking/jailbreaking but I am however technically inclined. I'd like to get the new tmo $30 plan Wal-Mart's Unlimited T-Mobile Data Plan - NYTimes.com even tho I'm only gonna get Edge speeds. What I'd like to know is the following, do i have to jailbreak my phone to unlock my phone? What is a reliable site to untether jailbreak/unlock my phone? I couldn't find the iOS 5 untethered unlock yet but I assume it will eventually come out so I'd just rather wait. My motivation for this, I'd just like to stick it to ATT since they don't have a data centric plan & all I do is text and use data. I'd like a iPad data plan for my iPhone, but I don't think they offer it.

There is currently no unlock or untethered jailbreak for your situation. I am sorry. You can wait or get another phone. Check out the Wikipedia article on iOS jailbreaking or iClarified.com for more info on what you need to know.
