i did the sinfuliphone repo thing from ultrasn0w but i cant get a signal whats going on any one can help me thanks

Did you install ultrasn0w and reboot? Also, what iphone? baseband? firmware?

i installed ultra snow and rebooted it again.... and its a 3gs and baseband is 5.16 and firmware is 4.3.5

That's your problem - 5.16 is unlockable. You need to flash the iPad baseband (6.15). You'll lose gps but it will be unlocked.
