i have a quick question i have a jail broken 3gs its on os 4.0 . i havent had the phone for 10months and it has been cut off by orange as the bill hasnt been paid in the last few . i was wondering if there is a way to unlock the phone so i can stick a pay as you go sim in it for now . i should still have cydia on the phone but not sure how i would go about unlocking it as i dont think i can get onto it with out internet on the phone . so how do i go about unlocking it

U can use cydia via wi-fi and install ultrasn0w and that would unlock it! Another way would be to use sn0wbreeze to jailbreak it to a more up to date firmware and let it install the unlock for you! Either way would work!
Since you indicate that the phone is blocked by Orange I will assume you are in the UK. When a phone is blocked by one carrier in the UK it is blocked by all carriers and hence even if you unlock the phone you will not be able to use it in the UK.
oh right i was only guessing it was blocked by orange as the bill wasnt paid ( i posted before i got the phone back ) . i have stuck a tesco and orange pay as you go sim in and they both work so i guess its not blocked then :S . as the sims work i take it i have no worries about updating and jailbreaking it
