Newbie Please Help Iphone stuck on recovery mode
Good morning,
I bought an iphone off ebay (GSM, locked, 4.3.5 ) and it came without sim card.
As per the instructions in a post on this website I tried to jailbreak (tethered redsn0w) to be able to use it without sim and had the phone go into recovery mode. Trying to restore itunes just gives me an error message, tiny umbrella did nothing, tried to jailbreak again, and no luck.
I'm at my wits end and I must say, it was the stupidest mistake to try to jailbreak considering I am technologically challenged.
I dont want a $500 paperweight, is there anything I can do to get the phone restored?
I appreciate any and all inputs. Thanks

Sounds like where I was stuck in. You will have to now update the phone to 4.3.5 stock firmware from iTunes and then use an AT&T SIM to by pass the activation or you can use the new redsn0w 0.9.8b3, however it will be a tethered jailbreak only which means if you turn your phone off you will need to hook it up to redsn0w and boot only to get it to turn back on. I decided to use an AT&T SIM card to bypass the activation screen and will just wait for an untethered jailbreak to come. Since you don't have any SHSH blobs of 4.3.3 or lower you can't downgrade the firmware to avoid a tethered jailbreak.
If I helped you hit the "Thanks"!
