    Default Unlocking iPhone issue..too late?

    With the realease of the new 1.1.1 firmware...is it still possible to unlock the iPhone using the iNdependace software and instructions listed on this site? My mate has one but I just wondered in the early stages of the activating the phone's firmware will be updated, right? Therefore making unlocking not possible (yet)? Just wondered as it'd save me a drive if it doesn't.
    Would love to know if anyone has an answer.
