4.3.3 is the maximum iOS for a full jb.
Best to stay on 4.1 and wait for an iOS 5 jb.

I understand you have a working 3GS on iOS 4.1, with modem firmware 6.15.0.
Question: Is the 3GS already jailbroken? Do you have the Cydia icon on any screen?
If you answered "YES". 3GS is already jailbroken. Use Cydia, search and install Ultrasn0w.
..Done with unlock for any SIM. Skip the next part. You are finished.
If you answered 'NO". 3GS is not jailbroken. Download iOS 4.1 and redsn0w 0.9.6rc8
..Run redsn0w, select 4.1, select 'install Cydia'
..Install Ultrasn0w using Cydia
..Done with Jailbreak and any SIM unlock.Last edited by Mes; 09-03-2011 at 07:40 PM.

Got it
To unlock, the modem firmware needs to be changed to the iPad 6.15.0 modem firmware.
Doing this will break your GPS (locations services will still work, but GPS accuracy is lost forever).
If you wish to do this, use redsn0w to install the iPad baseband.
Details:
Run redsn0w 0.9.6rc8, select 4.1, select one (1) option, 'install iPad baseband'
Install Ultrasn0w using Cydia
Done

The thing is when I go use redsn0w 0.96rc15 to install ipad 06.15.00 baseband, redsn0w ALWAYS gets frozen at "waiting on reboot" I also tried to build a custom firmware using pwnagetool, 4.1 firmware, and ipad 3.2.2. Then I try to restore the firmware on itunes with the custom build and this will not work either. Any help? Waiting for ios 5 IS NOT an option! Thanks friends!

redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 is the version to use for iOS 4.1
Note: We have had good success with this version.
Edit: rc18 also has the iPad install option for iOS 4.1. Likely it will work too.Last edited by Mes; 09-03-2011 at 10:21 PM.
