How to upgrade BB to iPad?
Hi
I have a 3G(s) iPhone with Jailbroken 4.1 FW
Originally Old Bootrom, by accident upgraded to 4.3.5 with BB 05.16.02
Then downgraded to 4.1 FW
I Jailbroke it with Green Poison and have Cydia installed.
f0recast says Upgrade to iPad baseband.
How do I do that? DFU and point to iPad 3.2.2 in iTunes.
Please let me know what I should do next
Thanks
Shaun

redsn0w rc16 should do it for you. Just select install ipad baseband.
Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 Released (Download Links)
Once installed there is no way of downgrading it and you will lose the GPS functionality.

OK, so let me get this straight.
I'm already JB to 4.1 FW
I load up rc16 with iPad 3.2.2 and restore to this FW.
I'm not sure where b6 comes into play here...

You're not restoring to anything. All you are doing is simply installing the ipad baseband.
Since your are already jailbroken here is how you would do it.
1. run Redsn0w (either b6 or rc16)
2. select the 4.1 stock fw and redsn0w will verify it
3. once the ipsw is verified select install ipad baseband
4. Follow the rest of the instructions on redsn0w
Redsn0w should do the rest.

Thanks a lot iHappy
BB updated to iPad AND the GPS seems to be working too, despite the warnings.

Your true GPS will not work with the iPad baseband. Things like google maps that uses cell tower and wifi triangulation will still work to find your location. Any app that use the true gps (Tom Tom for example) will not work.

Compass probably just uses triangulation too.

With IOS 5 upgrade take me back to a proper iPhone baseband?
Hi,
From a similar starting point, I'm about to do this - just to get the phone working.
Would an IOS 5 upgrade in the future when the untethered JB/unlock is available take me to a BB that is back in the mainstream for iPhone?
Ie I don't want to be stuck on baseband 05.14.02 with no GPS indefinitely!
